Key features
- Large 4K loading capacity: Drives resolutions up to 4096×2160@60Hz from a single controller.
- Ultra-wide and ultra-tall output: Custom output width or height can reach 7680 pixels for long banners and large-format screens.
- Multiple signal interfaces: Accepts 1 DP 1.2 source and 4 DVI sources.
- High-capacity LED output: Provides 16 Gigabit Ethernet ports and 4 optical fiber ports.
- High bit-depth processing: Supports 8-bit, 10-bit and 12-bit video sources.
- Independent RGB Gamma: With 10-bit or 12-bit sources, RGB Gamma can be adjusted independently to improve low-gray uniformity and reduce white-balance drift.
- 3D display capability: Works with the EMT200 transmitter and matching 3D glasses.
- High-resolution configuration: Supports ultra-high resolution settings through compatible NVIDIA graphics cards.
- Point-by-point calibration: Supports NovaStar’s new-generation calibration technology for a fast and efficient correction workflow.
- Scalable control: Multiple MCTRL1600 units can be cascaded for unified management.
Flexible operating modes
Sending card mode
When DVI mode is set to Dual Link, one MCTRL1600 can operate as two independent controllers. When DVI mode is set to Single Link, it can operate as four independent controllers. This flexibility helps configure different screen layouts from one device.
Photoelectric conversion and optical backup
The controller supports both optical port hot backup and optical port replication. In hot backup mode, one MCTRL1600 can send signals to two photoelectric converters at the same time, enabling loop backup from the converters to the receiving cards. This redundancy is especially useful for rental events and other applications where signal continuity matters.
Recommended applications
The NovaStar MCTRL1600 is suitable for large LED display projects that require high resolution, long-distance fiber transmission or redundant signal paths, including:
- Concerts, touring shows and live broadcast events
- Stadiums, sports centers and large venues
- Monitoring and control centers
- Large fixed-installation LED walls
- Ultra-wide stage backdrops and creative-format LED screens
Frequently asked questions
What is the maximum resolution of the NovaStar MCTRL1600?
A single MCTRL1600 supports up to 4096×2160 at 60 Hz. For custom layouts, the maximum width or height can reach 7680 pixels.
How many Ethernet and fiber outputs does the MCTRL1600 have?
It provides 16 Gigabit Ethernet outputs and 4 optical fiber outputs.
Which video inputs are supported?
The MCTRL1600 includes 1 DP 1.2 input and 4 DVI inputs.
Does the MCTRL1600 support signal backup?
Yes. Its optical ports support hot backup and replication modes. Hot backup can send the same signal to two photoelectric converters to help maintain the receiving-card signal path.
Can multiple MCTRL1600 controllers be used together?
Yes. Multiple units can be cascaded and managed together for larger LED display systems.
