NovaStar MRV412-N Receiving Card Overview

The NovaStar MRV412-N LED receiving card is a general-purpose receiver card for LED display cabinets. It accepts 8-bit video sources and combines high loading capacity with image-quality, maintenance and reliability functions for fixed-installation, rental and other LED display systems.

With PWM driver ICs, one MRV412-N supports resolutions up to 512 × 512 @ 60Hz. With common driver ICs, it supports up to 512 × 384 @ 60Hz. The card uses 12 standard HUB75E connectors and supports up to 24 groups of parallel RGB data, making it suitable for a wide range of cabinet and module layouts.

  • Individual RGB gamma adjustment: With NovaLCT and a compatible controller, red, green and blue gamma can be adjusted separately to improve low-grayscale uniformity and white balance.
  • 90° image rotation: Rotates the image in 90-degree increments for flexible cabinet orientation.

  • Mapping 1.1: Displays the controller number, receiving card number and Ethernet port information on cabinets so technicians can identify card locations and connection topology.
  • Stored image settings: A custom image can be shown at startup, when the Ethernet cable is disconnected or when no video signal is present.
  • Temperature and voltage monitoring: Monitors the receiving card without requiring an external measurement device.
  • Cabinet LCD support: A cabinet LCD module can show temperature, voltage, single-run time and total run time.
  • Bit error detection: Monitors Ethernet-port communication in real time to help troubleshoot network communication issues.
  • Firmware program readback: Reads the receiving card firmware program and saves it to a local computer.
  • Configuration parameter readback: Reads and saves receiving card configuration parameters, improving setup and service efficiency.

Reliability and Backup Protection

  • Loop backup: The receiving card and controller can form a loop through primary and backup line connections. If a line fault occurs, the screen can continue displaying normally.
  • Dual backup of configuration parameters: Parameters are stored in both the application area and factory area, allowing the factory settings to be restored when necessary.
  • Dual firmware backup: Two firmware copies are stored at the factory to reduce the risk of an abnormal interruption during a firmware update.
