NovaStar CVT10-S Fiber Converter for LED Displays

$713.00

NovaStar CVT10-S is a single-mode fiber converter for reliable, long-distance LED display signal transmission. It converts electrical Ethernet signals to optical fiber signals, or optical signals back to Ethernet, through 2 optical ports (up to 10 Gbit/s each) and 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports (up to 1 Gbit/s each).

Its full-duplex design, hot-swappable optical modules, dual power connector options and flexible mounting make it a practical choice when the LED controller and display are separated by a long distance.

Description

NovaStar CVT10-S Fiber Converter Overview

The NovaStar CVT10-S is a single-mode fiber converter that extends LED display control signals over optical fiber. It converts electrical Ethernet signals from a sending device into optical signals for long-distance transmission, or converts optical signals back into Ethernet near the LED display. Full-duplex transmission and the natural resistance of fiber to electromagnetic interference help maintain a stable data link between the controller and screen.

The CVT10-S is designed for NovaStar LED display systems that require reliable signal delivery across venues, buildings or other installations where copper Ethernet distance is limiting. For more control-system options, browse our NovaStar products.

Key Specifications

How the Ethernet Ports Work

When fiber is the input and Ethernet is the output: If the upstream device has 8 or 16 Ethernet ports, the first 8 Ethernet ports on the CVT10 are available. If the upstream device has 10 or 20 Ethernet ports, all 10 CVT10 Ethernet ports are available.

When Ethernet is the input and fiber is the output: All 10 Ethernet ports on the CVT10 are available.

Why Use the CVT10-S?

  • Long-distance signal extension: Optical fiber carries LED display data beyond the practical distance of copper Ethernet cabling.
  • Stable transmission: Full-duplex communication and fiber connectivity reduce the effect of electrical interference in demanding environments.
  • High port density: Two optical ports and 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports support multi-port NovaStar control workflows.
  • Service-friendly design: Factory-installed optical modules are hot-swappable for easier system maintenance.
  • Flexible installation: Use the converter horizontally, suspend it, or integrate it into a rack. Two CVT10 units, or one unit with a connecting piece, can be combined as a rack-mount assembly.
  • Power flexibility: The 3-pin and PowerCON connection options suit different installation requirements.

Typical Applications

The NovaStar CVT10-S is suitable for fixed LED displays, live-event LED systems, stadium screens, control rooms and other projects where the sending device is located far from the display. It is especially useful when a stable optical link is preferred between the control area and the screen-side receiving equipment.

Choosing Between CVT10-S and CVT10-M

Choose the CVT10-S for single-mode fiber. Choose the CVT10-M when the project uses multi-mode fiber. Before ordering, confirm the fiber type, optical module compatibility, upstream controller port count and required mounting accessories for your system.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the NovaStar CVT10-S do?

It converts LED control data between electrical Ethernet and single-mode optical fiber, allowing the controller and LED display equipment to communicate over a long-distance fiber link.

Is the CVT10-S bidirectional?

Yes. It supports fiber input with Ethernet output and Ethernet input with fiber output.

How many Ethernet ports does the CVT10-S have?

It has 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports, each supporting up to 1 Gbit/s. The number available in fiber-to-Ethernet mode depends on whether the upstream device provides 8, 10, 16 or 20 Ethernet ports.

Can the CVT10-S be rack mounted?

Yes. It supports rack mounting as well as horizontal and suspended installation. Two units, or one unit plus a connecting piece, can be assembled for rack installation.

What is the difference between CVT10-S and CVT10-M?

CVT10-S is the single-mode model, while CVT10-M is the multi-mode model.
